Unidos por Yaiza (UPY) convened this Thursday the Extraordinary Congress from which the new president and the Executive Committee will be elected as the highest governing body of the political party, a conclave already set for Saturday, December 3, at 11:00 am, at the Hotel Natura Palace in Playa Blanca.

This same Thursday afternoon, the meeting of the outgoing Executive Committee led by the acting president, Marcial Viñoly, took place, where the regulations of the Congress and the agenda of the same were agreed upon, respecting the current statutes, whose update will also be submitted to a vote of the members on December 3.

The outgoing Executive Committee then gathered the members of the UPY Local Committee to inform its members of the decisions adopted and provide details on legal and operational aspects of the Congress. The period for submitting candidacies for the presidency was established from Friday, November 18 to Friday, November 25, a period in which those who apply must accredit at least 15 endorsements from members and confirm the people who accompany their slate to occupy the vice-presidency, secretary, treasurer, and members.

The responsibility for organizing the Congress lies with the Board formed by Karina Centeno, Beatriz Vázquez, Daniel Medina and Ángel Lago.
