The Tinajo City Council and the Teguise City Council have published the bases for applying for travel grants for students residing in both municipalities. In the case of Tinajo, these are the subsidies corresponding to the past academic year 2025/2026, while in Teguise they are grants for this academic year.

The municipality of Teguise has approved a credit of 450,000 euros to be distributed among its students. The bases of the call in the town set the grants for transport within the island at 150 euros, while increasing to 700 euros for travel to other islands within the archipelago and 800 euros for those studying outside the autonomous community.

In the case of Teguise, beneficiaries must be registered in the municipality for at least one year. Furthermore, applicants must be enrolled in authorized public, private, or subsidized centers. The scholarships cover students of Baccalaureate, Vocational Training Cycles, and University Studies.

In the case of students pursuing online studies, these must be exceptional cases where it is proven that they are governed by tutoring or in-person exams. In this way, they would be considered studies within the island.

Meanwhile, for students from Tinajo who pursued in-person or semi-in-person studies within the island, but outside the municipality, last academic year, grants ranging from 477.4 euros to 554.40 euros in the case of large families are contemplated.

The amount increases for studies outside the island, ranging from 693.00 euros to 808.5 euros, the latter intended for large families.

These grants in Tinajo can be applied for by those who have completed Baccalaureate studies, vocational training cycles, official undergraduate or master's university degrees. These grants are awarded regardless of whether the educational center is public, private, or subsidized.

These types of grants are compatible with other subsidies. At the same time, students interested in applying for them will have 20 business days in the case of Tinajo, starting from this October 20th. Meanwhile, in Teguise, they will have 30 business days, starting from last October 17th.
