The government group of the Tías City Council, formed by PSOE and Unidas Sí Podemos, has informed the residents of Mácher about the project of a private entity to install photovoltaic panels in the Camino Rompimiento area.
The top officials of the consistory express their caution regarding a private business proposal that involves the occupation of land, at least 28,721 square meters, and that, foreseeably, will not have a positive or beneficial impact on the citizens, so a supposed declaration of public and social interest of the project would not be justified.
The City Council emphasizes the institutional commitment to the use and promotion of renewable energies that help mitigate the carbon footprint and whose beneficiary is the citizen. In fact, the government group modified this year the fiscal ordinance regulating the IBI to subsidize with 20% the thermal solar use for self-consumption.
This project does not correspond, in principle, with those business initiatives that do not positively impact the residents of the municipality.
“We are committed to promoting energy saving and the use of renewable energies through self-consumption and the occupation of existing roofs, avoiding the occupation of land in the municipality”, they point out.
