El Pavón Square was the scene this Saturday of an artistic activity to commemorate the 50 years of freedom in Spain. The Tías City Council, through its Culture department, hosted the first event held in the Canary Islands within this anniversary, coordinated by Marea Producciones.
The day was dedicated to the development of a collaborative mural led by artist JUIN, recognized for his work in mural art and participatory urban art. Under his guidance, adults, children, and interested individuals joined the pictorial intervention, contributing color, creativity, and their own ideas in a day marked by a spirit of coexistence and collective memory.
The mural, conceived as an open and symbolic work, represents diversity, coexistence, and democratic memory, brought together personal contributions that reflect different perspectives on these five decades of freedom. The activity underscored the value of art as a tool for unity and collective reflection in public spaces. The proposal also sought to highlight public spaces as places for meeting and cultural expression.
From the Insular Directorate of the A.G.E. of Lanzarote, the participation of the population in this initiative was appreciated, highlighting the importance of continuing to generate spaces for cultural encounter that foster citizen expression and shared memory.
