The Ayuntamiento de Tías has approved in ordinary plenary session the establishment of the public service of sports activities and of physical maintenance in the municipal swimming pool through indirect management by means of contract bidding. This initiative has gone forward with the vote in favor of the governing group, formed by PSOE and Unidas Sí Podemos, and the abstention of the opposition.
The activity, therefore, will be assumed by the City Council, which will manage it through a public service contract tender and will allow the municipal swimming pool to be put into operation after an “arduous and coordinated” teamwork that has allowed overcoming the technical challenges and the complexity of the file.
The mayor, José Juan Cruz, and the councilwoman of Classified Activities, Mariana Pérez, publicly thanked the work of the different implicated council departments, as well as the technical staff, internal workers, and external professionals who have been involved in the file.
Mariana Pérez regretted that "the opposition did not support this point on the agenda, despite the fact that the project remained published for 30 days in the Boletín Oficial de la Provincia (BOP) and no observations or allegations were presented on their part, neither by individuals nor entities".
“I want to highlight the coordinated management of the areas of Sports, Urban Planning, Cleaning, and Contracting, together with the Heritage Unit and the rest of the areas that have contributed to the successful conclusion of this file. It is fair to value the support and teamwork of each and every one of the councilors and the mayor who make up this government,” Pérez indicated.
“The technical challenge and complexity that the commissioning of the municipal swimming pool has raised for years is not unknown, and thanks to the transversal collaboration between areas and the teamwork capacity of this government, today we are in a very advanced phase for sports practice in the municipal swimming pool of Tías to be a reality,” he specified.
Mariana Pérez clarified that, with respect to the annexed facilities, the cafeteria and the sports rooms will soon be put out to tender, which are currently undergoing a valuation process for the determination of the monthly fee and their subsequent tender process.
