The Tías City Council will allocate an extra 34,000 euros for the teams that play in the Division of Honor: CD Magec Tías and CB Puerto del Carmen. This measure is in addition to the subsidies for the creation of sports schools that carry out their activity in the municipality during the current season, which amount to 400,000 euros.

The government group of the Tías City Council proposes for the next ordinary plenary session, through the Finance Department managed by Tomás Silvera, a modification of credit in the corporation's budget that allows allocating 62,000 euros to different events and sports actions.

This item includes the 17,000 euros that CD Magec Tías (basketball) and CB Puerto del Carmen (handball) will have each to organize and manage activities and promotion in different media and channels when playing in the Division of Honor and another 6,000 euros to CD Magec Tías for the promotion of inclusive sports.

This budgetary credit modification includes allocating 9,000 euros to subsidize the Sailfish Openwater swimming event, 6,000 euros for the 3*3 Under The Rim basketball tournament, 5,000 euros for the Isla de los Volcanes Land Rally, and 2,000 euros for the Match Point island tennis circuit.

The mayor of Tías, José Juan Cruz, states that "we are with sports and with all the sports schools in the municipality, as we not only appreciate the work they carry out throughout the year with hundreds of athletes, but we also value their contribution in promoting healthy living habits, experiencing sports as a fundamental tool for the development of society."

More than 635,000 euros in sports

All these subsidies, which amount to a total of 62,000 euros, are added to the 41,000 euros approved in the March plenary session through credit modification to cover the Club La Santa cycling tour, Fariones Run Night, Playa Grande beach volleyball, Paddle Challenger Puerto del Carmen, and crossfit Tagoror Games.

Likewise, Club La Santa Ironman Lanzarote will receive 60,000 euros, the Tías Wrestling Club, 50,000 euros, and the Ocean Lava Lanzarote triathlon, 22,000 euros. All these amounts exceed 635,000 euros.
