The works of Casa Cerdeña, the sports area attached to Casa Mayor Guerra and the San Bartolomé nursery are completed

The City Council is waiting to receive the three works, which have involved an investment of around 150,000 euros

The mayor of San Bartolomé, Alexis Tejera, has announced that "finishing touches are being finalized" to receive "in the coming dates" the improvement works of Casa Cerdeña, the exteriors of Casa Mayor Guerra and the municipal nursery

These three works have involved an investment of around 150,000 euros and the City Council highlights that "they contribute to the maintenance of heritage as is the case of Casa Cerdeña and the improvement of municipal facilities in the Municipal Nursery, where action has also been taken to prevent future deterioration." On the other hand, with the works on the exteriors of Casa Mayor Guerra, "a new outdoor sports and leisure area is made available to the neighborhood."

Casa Cerdeña (7)?

The works in Casa Cerdeña began in the month of July and work has been done on the waterproofing of the roof and replacement of damaged elements, restoration of the exterior carpentry with replacement of affected elements in the exterior wooden pergola, conservation-restoration of the exposed wooden elements and restoration of doors and windows of the main facade of Casa Cerdeña

Coatings and finishes have also been carried out on the interior vertical walls affected by humidity and leaks with chipping of the plaster on the vertical walls and replacement of damaged plaster and paint. The work is being carried out by the company Mantenimientos Marmape S.L. with a budget of 53,531.77 euros plus IGIC, and is financed with a nominated subsidy from the Cabildo de Lanzarote.

New sports area on the exteriors of Casa Mayor Guerra


The works on the exteriors of Casa Mayor Guerra are finished "and promote leisure, recreation and sports." Work has been done on the conditioning of the palm grove, gardening, parking and sports circuit to create a space for outdoor sports taking advantage of the conditions offered by the area.

With this new enclosure, the town of San Bartolomé and the municipality have a perimeter ring three meters wide and different interior paths two meters wide, for running and providing pedestrian access to the leisure area.

Athletes and fans will be able to exercise in the calisthenics circuit that has support for push-ups, for lumbar and abdominal exercises, jumps with feet together, for pulse or pull-up bars, parallel bars and support for inclined abdominal exercises that allow calisthenics-type physical exercise, and three recreation areas. Solid wood bollards have been placed to inform of the distance traveled and others to limit passage that delimit the parking area and the entrances to the enclosure, adding a stone wall and litter bins.

This work has been carried out by the company Interjardín S.L., for a total of 46,146 euros plus IGIC and is financed with a subsidy from the Cabildo de Lanzarote, included within the execution of the Extraordinary Island Plan for Works in Municipalities 2017.

Conditioning of the San Bartolomé Nursery


The works completed in the Nursery, which are pending receipt, s have focused mainly on the modification of all accesses to the center to adapt them to accessibility regulations, including the replacement of part of the carpentry.

In addition, the bathrooms have been renovated making them accessible with a change of flooring, and the infirmary and office is divided with plasterboard, creating a new dependency as a warehouse and improvements in the facilities.

In addition, this work contemplates the location of two water tanks, the replacement of the plumbing, and a solution is given to the location of the municipal waste collection containers. This work has been executed by the company Rehabilitaciones y Construcciones Sanabria S.L., with an execution budget of 49,256.05 euros plus IGIC and is paid for with own funds from the City Council.
