The Deputy Ministry of Infrastructure and Transport of the Government of the Canary Islands has put out to tender the project to widen the LZ-40 road between the airport and Puerto del Carmen, for an amount of 382,638 euros. The intervention has an execution period of 10 months and will involve adding a second lane to this road.
The president of the Cabildo, María Dolores Corujo, highlights this project as "a great start to the commitment acquired by the Ministry of Public Works of the Government of the Canary Islands with Lanzarote in terms of roads and to settle the debt that the regional Executive has with the Island in road infrastructure."
For his part, the councilor responsible for the area, Jacobo Medina, points out that undertaking this action "will not only solve the demands of citizens, but will also improve the accessibility of a road as busy as the section between the Airport and Puerto del Carmen."
From the Cabildo they emphasize that among the special conditions of execution of this contract is the promotion of the employment of people with particular difficulties of insertion in the labor market and the hiring of people registered as job seekers in the offices of the Canarian Employment Service, giving priority to young people and the long-term unemployed, in order to promote youth employment and give opportunities to workers who have been unemployed for a longer time.
Interested companies may submit their offers until January 27 through the web platform of Contracting of the Government of Spain.
