The Minister of Waste of the Cabildo of Lanzarote, Hugo Delgado, visited a few days ago the waste classification plant managed by the company Urbaser S.A., the successful bidder for the selective collection service, with the aim of supervising and informing the population of the route that waste takes from home to said plant.
Delgado stated after the visit that “the objective is to publicize the treatments that are carried out on the collected waste in terms of cardboard and packaging. Managing waste well from home until it reaches the recycling plant is essential.”
“This visit is intended to learn about the treatments carried out on the waste collected in Lanzarote. This plant recovers, separates and classifies cardboard and plastic waste.”
In addition, the counselor recalls that “the mission is to recover most of the waste to keep Lanzarote clean.”
