The price of fuels in Lanzarote continues to skyrocket due to the conflict between the United States and Israel against Iran and its consequences in the Strait of Hormuz.
The liter of gasoline closed in August at almost 1.5 euros, while diesel was close to reaching 1.6 euros per liter, according to figures provided by the Lanzarote Data Center.
Thus, gasoline costs 29.6% more than it did a year ago when it was 1.141 euros per liter, while diesel has soared 38.1% compared to the average price recorded in August of last year when it was 1.139 euros.
The turning point occurred in March, when prices began an upward trend that increased drastically in the second quarter. In April, diesel in Lanzarote was on average 58.9% more expensive than a year earlier, and gasoline 41.3%.
The most economical option on the island to purchase diesel is once again Plenergy, in Arrecife, where it is sold at 1.497 euros per liter.
At the opposite extreme, the highest price is charged at the TGAS establishment in Haría, where the liter reaches 1.780 euros.
Regarding gasoline 95, the lowest prices at the pump are again found at the two Plenergy stations where the liter costs 1.447 euros. On the other hand, the highest prices are at Disa in Yaiza, where it is sold at 1.589 euros per liter.
For drivers looking for gasoline 98, the best price is at the PCAN gas station in Arrieta, which sells it for 1.569 euros per liter. Meanwhile, the most expensive liter is at the Repsol on the LZ-2 road that connects Arrecife with Playa Blanca, where it is sold for 1.719 euros per liter.
