Until Tuesday night, the garbage cans on Las Piteras street were still overflowing and the bags occupied the street, despite the fact that the councilor of Costa Teguise, Begoña La Fuente, assured that they would be clean during the day thanks to the municipal services. And the councilor assured that the Union for the Conservation of Costa Teguise had refused to collect the garbage in the area "where the Algol homes are located".

"The UCCT has never refused to collect garbage from any resident of Costa Teguise". This is expressed in a press release by the president of the Union for the Conservation of Costa Teguise, Bernard Gaziello, in relation to the statements made by La Fuente, for which they declare themselves "outraged". And they assure that "they do not correspond to reality" and regret that the City Council "tries to damage the image that the UCCT maintains with the owners".

In the statement, the UCCT relates that last June, "after having been required by the residents of said area, a letter was sent to the City Council requesting authorization to carry out the service", since according to them, "we had no legal record that these plots were built" and regret the lack of response from the City Council.

In the letter sent to the City Council on June 17, the UCCT informs you that "the administrator of the Malvasía Residential Owners Community, located on plot 306 of the Costa Teguise urbanization, has contacted the UCCT requesting the garbage collection service and the cleaning of the adjoining areas of the complex".

Likewise, the UCCT requested the City Council to assume the commitment to subsidize the receipts for garbage collection, and to prove if the plot is legally built and if it has all the reports and licenses required by law, since "no project has been presented to the UCCT on said plot", he states. On the other hand, he also reported that the plot was not up to date with the payment of its fees.

In addition, from the UCCT they assure that until today, no negotiation process has been initiated with the City Council for the dissolution of the entity. A dissolution that was approved unanimously in a plenary session held in March 2007 and to which the councilor of Costa Teguise had also referred, stating that "the negotiations are very complicated because they have their statutes and it is more difficult to dissolve it".
