The Contentious-Administrative Chamber of the Superior Court of Justice of the Canary Islands has once again ruled in favor of the Minister of Health of the Cabildo of Lanzarote, Juan Manuel Sosa, dismissing a new request made by the councilors of the Political Group of the Canarian Coalition, headed by Pedro San Ginés, to try to make effective the expulsion from said political group that they unilaterally agreed upon and that was immediately suspended by the courts in the process undertaken by Sosa to preserve his rights of political participation.
In a recent order that has been notified to the parties today (May 19), the Court has agreed to maintain the suspension of the expulsion of the councilor from the political group in which he had joined at the beginning of this term, from which he was expelled by the CC councilors after the breakdown of the electoral agreement between San Borondón and the Canarian Coalition at the end of 2019.
As will be recalled, Juan Manuel Sosa is not a member of the Canarian Coalition and his presence on the list of said party to the Cabildo was due to an electoral agreement reached by both political formations to go together to the local elections of 2019.
Said agreement was broken after San Borondón denounced that the Canarian Coalition had breached its electoral agreements, which led to both Juan Manuel Sosa in the Cabildo, and Carlos Alférez in the Arrecife City Council (both public officials of San Borondón) abandoning the voting discipline with the Canarian Coalition in the Cabildo and in the Arrecife City Council, the only corporations where San Borondón had representation.
