"Pedro San Ginés and Marci Acuña have lied to the people of Haría again regarding the payment of La Cueva de Los Verdes". This is denounced by the PSOE of Haría, which affirms that "on this occasion, the president of the Cabildo and the mayor of Haría have been spreading the idea that a sentence like the one of La Cueva de Los Verdes, in which the courts condemn the Cabildo to pay around 18 million euros, would ruin the Cabildo of Lanzarote, this being one of the main reasons to take away the economic rights of the people of Haría".
"With the numbers in hand, this is a new lie", points out the spokesperson for the PSOE in the northern municipality, Alfredo Villalba, who believes that "the real reason why the sentence of La Cueva de los Verdes is not paid is because neither Acuña nor San Ginés want to, since it does not represent any serious economic effort for anyone."
And, the socialist points out that "the budget of the Cabildo, which will be approved in full on June 29, is 188,237,663 euros with an amount destined for investments of more than 57 million euros." "Therefore, and taking into account that the debt with Haría is estimated at about 18 million, allocating only 0.96% of its budget, the sentence would be settled in a payment plan of 10 years. But even if 1.92% of that budget were programmed, the debt would be resolved in just five years," says Alfredo Villalba, who points out that the opposition forces have "never" opposed "the deferred payment of the same".

"These data provided by the Cabildo of Lanzarote itself are even more scandalous, when more than 57 million euros are allocated to investments. Investments that will not be made, since the institution, hand in hand with San Ginés, is only capable of investing 25% of its budget, and if we take into account that this budget will be operational from July, this year the amount materialized may be truly laughable", believes the PSOE, which considers that "with the money that the Cabildo fails to invest each year, the debt of Haría could be paid in a single payment and the Cabildo would not even blink." "Therefore, San Ginés and Acuña prefer the money to be lost, rather than paying the residents of Haría what they are justly owed."
In short, in the opinion of the socialists, "the payment of the debt to Haría does not pose any problem for the Cabildo of Lanzarote, nor does it put its economy, investments, or anything else at risk." "The real problem is that the president of the Cabildo and the mayor of Haría despise this town and deceive it, and do not consider that we, the people of Haría, have the right to collect what has been won in the courts", they affirm.
The PSOE thus denounces "the great scam that the entire negotiation process that Acuña and San Ginés have carried out has been for our neighbors" since they believe that "everything has been a theater staged to confuse us and steal from the municipality the money that rightfully belonged to it".
