The results obtained by the Socialist Party of Lanzarote in the General Elections of 23J have been described as "exceptional" by the island secretary, Loli Corujo, after the count and verifying that the island PSOE revalidates its condition as the first force in Lanzarote.
"They have been magnificent results and once again we have won against the polls and interested predictions. Our militancy has been able to maintain the illusion and confidence and transfer it to our electorate," Corujo explained.
The socialist candidate, who headed the list of the province of Las Palmas, has shown "her satisfaction" because the provincial list, in addition to being the most voted, has experienced a growth of just over four points compared to the 2019 elections, reaching 33.17%.
These results were improved in Lanzarote, which grew by just over six points, reaching 36.33%, exceeding the national and regional average. "Lanzarote has obtained figures that place us as one of the territories with the best results, so I can only show my sincere gratitude for the support received," explained the socialist leader.
A resounding victory in the Senate
For his part, the Senate candidacy of Manolo Fajardo obtained 38.34%, with a total of 21,303 votes, surpassing the candidacy of the Popular Party by 7,664 votes, which represents 13.79 percentage points difference.
This resounding victory allows Fajardo to re-edit his status as senator for Lanzarote for four more years and consolidate himself as one of the Canarian senators with the greatest influence in the Upper House.
