The PSOE of Teguise faces the last ordinary plenary session of 2024, to be held this Wednesday, December 11, with a battery of measures to address various citizen demands "as a result of active listening and motivation to be useful in solving the problems suffered by the people of Teguise and Graciosa in their day to day," says Jenifer Galán, socialist councilor.

In this sense, Galán emphasizes that, "among the proposals presented are modernizing the pruning removal service, the correct conservation of municipal manholes and correcting the dangerous intersection at the entrance to Tahíche on the LZ-1".

Regarding the existing intersection on the LZ-1, at the intersection of Rafael Alberti Street with Néstor de La Torre Avenue, where the poor visibility for drivers at this exit and entrance to Tahíche generates serious dangers, "we propose urging the Cabildo of Lanzarote to eliminate the existing and useless wall on the corner of the intersection itself, thus guaranteeing visibility and safety".

"With a little will, the action should be undertaken as quickly as possible and avoid accidents that no one wants at an intersection that raises complaints from citizens who use it to access the area of the soccer field and the Tahíche pavilion, for example," summarizes Galán.

On the street to act

"As the majority party in the municipality - recalls the councilor -, we have the obligation to 'walk the street', detect deficiencies, listen to citizens and propose solutions, which we do through our positive proposals at each plenary session".

Thus, in response to repeated requests, the socialist group "will also propose an action plan to address the countless manholes in poor condition scattered throughout the municipality, typical of services such as lighting, sanitation - in the localities that have it - or telephone, due to the poor image it represents, the risk of accident or the annoying noises as a result of its lack of maintenance".

The set of socialist initiatives concludes "with the necessary 'modernization' of the pruning removal service available to the municipality, which involves its reinforcement in the months of greatest demand, incorporating the possibility of requesting a tray for pruning remains through new technologies - currently it can only be requested by telephone -, and even its advance reservation," says Galán.

"All these proposals, concludes Galán, feasible and necessary, are the result of the claims we receive in our citizen meetings and the commitment to transfer them to the plenary hall of Teguise via requests, questions or motions, as we do in this last plenary session of 2024," concludes Galán.
