The spokesperson for the Socialist Group in the Cabildo, Ariagona González, has reproached Oswaldo Betancort for having voted against the fuel subsidy for Lanzarote and Fuerteventura, as has already been approved in La Gomera, El Hierro and La Palma. The island president has voted against the motion presented by the PSOE in the extraordinary plenary session held this Friday.
In her speech in the plenary session this Thursday, the councilor recalled that already in July the PSOE warned of Fernando Clavijo's intentions to discriminate against Lanzarote and Fuerteventura compared to the so-called Green Islands and criticized that during these months Oswaldo Betancort "has not been able to confront Clavijo to prevent this unacceptable discriminatory treatment."
"I have no choice but to point out again that you kneel before Clavijo and submit to this new grievance to Lanzarote," González said in her speech, before Betancort's attempt to amend the motion and turn it into a request to conduct studies on the price of fuel in Lanzarote.
"The data on the overcost of fuel in Lanzarote already exists, it is in the FECAI," said the councilor, who considered this proposal by Oswaldo Betancort as an attempt to deactivate the proposal of the Socialist Party accepting, as with the budget, a new humiliation for Lanzarote.
"Fernando Clavijo is building a Canary Islands with first and second class islands and has placed Lanzarote in the caboose," said the councilor, reproaching Oswaldo Betancort for his complicity with this new discrimination.
