The PSOE of Arrecife states that "they are not ashamed to recognize when someone does things well, even if they are from another political party." In this case, the socialists value the work carried out in the past term by the then mayor of Arrecife, the popular Astrid Pérez, along with the councilor for Sports and current socialist councilor Roy González. According to them, thanks to that joint work, the situation of the pavilion was unblocked, finally allowing its opening.
For the PSOE, it is fundamental that citizens know "the truth about who works for the city and who dedicates themselves to squandering public money on parties".
"The mayor delayed the opening for more than two years"
Just as they acknowledge good work, the socialists affirm that they cannot remain silent in the face of what they consider a lack of management. The PSOE councilwoman, Cristina Duque, maintains that "it is a shame that Yonathan de León's incompetence has delayed the opening for more than two years".
According to Duque, the pavilion was practically completed during the previous legislative session and could have been inaugurated in October 2023 "if they had made an effort." He adds that "it's a shame, but it's normal for someone who only thinks about parties and waste, and who isn't focused on what's important."
"A lost legislature"
Arrecife's socialists are wondering what future awaits the city in the next term, considering that during these four years "they have only been living off past projects and squandering on parties, without promoting new initiatives".
Duque concludes that "it's a shame to see how De León lives off photographs of past works and present festivals. It's pathetic to see that the mayor's policy is to 'steal' the work from his own party colleague Astrid Pérez and the socialist Roy González."
