The People's Party of Lanzarote and La Graciosa announced this Tuesday the dismissal of the until now CEO of the Centers of Art, Culture and Tourism, Ángel Vázquez, and has handed over this responsibility to the current president of the party on the island, María Jesús Tovar.
This decision is made following the report carried out by the Cabildo of Lanzarote and La Graciosa in relation to the provision requested by President Oswaldo Betancort, based on the awarding of a permanent position to Ángel Vázquez's son in the Centers of Art, Culture and Tourism.
The president of the popular party of Lanzarote and La Graciosa, María Jesús Tovar, assures that this decision is made "with the utmost transparency and respect for internal procedures in the Cabildo of Lanzarote and La Graciosa". "Unlike other parties, we have transparency and legality as our banner and, in view of the report carried out by the island Corporation, we have made this decision," Tovar adds.
In said report, as informed by the Cabildo of Lanzarote and La Graciosa, the procedure could be declared voidable, reverting to the moment when the CEO should have recused himself from the procedure in its entirety.
"The People's Party of Lanzarote and La Graciosa is an upright party that respects, above all else, the technical reports of public administrations as well as all their considerations and conclusions," stated the president, who from this Tuesday assumes the direction of the Centers of Art, Culture and Tourism of Lanzarote.
It should also be recalled that the counselor Ángel Vázquez is currently on medical leave since last October 9, as he himself announced this Monday.
