The councilors of the Popular Party in the City Council of San Bartolomé, Lorenzo Reyes and Sergio Tejera, have once again requested through a motion to the municipal plenary the inclusion of a budget item for the launch of an asphalt plan in the town of Güime, which will allow the completion of the adaptation of the streets that are pending paving and sidewalks.
The popular representatives recall that already in June of last year they insisted on the need for the City Council to act on Los Veroles and La Molina streets in Güime, roads that "were left unfinished and are generating great discomfort among those affected." “
"We perfectly understand the anger that the residents have with the City Council because in the electoral campaign the PSOE candidate, now mayor, promised them that they would be paved and two years later the streets are still the same, or even dustier, and without sidewalks," denounces the deputy spokesperson for the PP, Sergio Tejera.
From the Popular Party, they welcome the actions that, for example, are being carried out in action unit 3, in the industrial area of Playa Honda, "in which the City Council acts as a promoter, and which are absolutely necessary." "We ourselves have demanded these works," the councilor points out and acknowledges.
"However, the residents of Guime, like those of the rest of the municipality, also pay their taxes and have the right to have the access roads to their homes in good condition, streets that, it must be said, have never been paved, as in this case," he adds.
For the councilors of the Popular Party, it is "lamentable" that "with the time that has passed, the mayor has been unable to fulfill the commitment made to the residents". Now, they trust that, "this time, the government will act and begin the procedures for paving these two roads."
