The Popular Party has publicly asked the president of the Cabildo, María Dolores Corujo, to "comply with the Organic Regulations of the Corporation and provide the file of Jorge Peñas' private trip to Tenerife to participate in a political act of his party at the expense of the Cabildo". And they assure that "after the five regulatory days, the PSOE and Podemos government still fails to provide the file".

The populars accuse Corujo of "hiding" the information of the councilor's trip, "whose decree authorizing the expense was signed by herself, ignoring that it was not up to the Cabildo to take care of the expenses of the ticket, allowances and taxi or rental car".

“It is not a matter that gains more or less importance due to the amount itself, but due to the fact that it is an irregularity as big as a house and what cannot be done is to silence it”, they affirm.

For the councilors of the Popular Party, “transparency must not only be preached, but also exercised”, so they demand that Corujo comply, providing the documentation that they requested on the 8th and for which they say they are still "waiting”.

“We believe that this matter is of extreme seriousness regardless of the amount, even if it is five euros”, denounces the PP, which also recalls that, "coincidentally, the councilor for Transparency and Open Government has a first and last name and is called Jorge Peñas". Thus, they insist that “a Cabildo cannot take care of the expenses of councilors to participate in a party event”, and emphasize that they have "recognized some of their colleagues from the purple formation who also attended the same event".

"There is nothing that justifies Jorge Peñas' way of acting, and even less that the president authorized the expenses of said trip, since there is no room for errors or misunderstandings in matters of public money”, the populars conclude.
