The Platform of the Municipality of Haría (PMH) has denounced this Friday the forms in the call for the extraordinary plenary session scheduled by the municipal government group, formed by the PSOE, Compromiso por Haría and Nueva Canarias. The political formation has indicated that they warned the rest of the opposition councilors with "less than 24 hours in advance" and without previously convening an Informative Commission.

"The main issue of the plenary session is a budget modification, that is, taking more than two million euros from the remainder in a town hall where the budget normally does not reach eight. In this way, the government group does not give us the possibility of asking for explanations through an Informative Commission and does so without time for the councilors of the corporation themselves to analyze or consult the documentation", detailed the spokesperson for the PMH, Evelia García.

The PMH has indicated that "in the more than four months of government, it is not the first time that they have used this type of call for such relevant issues that could perfectly be convened with advance notice".

From the Platform "we are not asking for anything impossible, only the normal procedure of a call that is two days prior for an Informative Commission and another two days for the plenary session", he explains, "however, they decide to do it in an extraordinary and urgent way, to try to legitimize skipping the informative commission, even more so when they should have already convened and held the ordinary plenary session".

"It is perfectly legitimate for the government group to dedicate the money to what they decide, although there are examples of some amounts of dubious application such as using half a million euros to buy tents for the market and they consider it within chapter six, of works and investments".

We also want to emphasize "that we are surprised by the priorities that this government group has. One of the things is the two and a half months that the users of the Food Bank have been without supply".

For this reason, "from the PMH we have decided not to be part of this mere staging and, therefore, we will not attend the plenary session of this Friday the 17th because we consider that it completely biases the right and duty of oversight that we must exercise".
