The Platform of the Municipality of Haría rejects that the "personal interest" of "some political parties with municipal representation" prevents the implementation of a dozen works in Haría.

The mayor of Haría, Evelia García, accuses members of the corporation of "prioritizing personal and political interests over the general interest." The also candidate for mayor by the Platform of the Municipality of Haría (PMH) insists that "it is incomprehensible" that some opposition parties have voted against a budget modification for works and investments "necessary" for the municipality.

The corporation intended to reach a budget modification of 600,000 euros, destined for works such as the repair of the sinkhole on the road to Punta Mujeres, the improvement works of the CEIP San Juan, the accessibility works in the municipal Cemetery, the Plaza de Mala and the sports court of Máguez, or the repair of walls, "whose poor condition poses a risk to the safety of the residents and tourists who visit the municipality," the platform stressed in a statement.

The Platform of the Municipality of Haría (PMH) has indicated that "the former councilors of Coalición Canaria and now non-attached councilors, led by the candidate for mayor by Compromiso por Haría, Chaxiraxi Niz, and the PSOE have opposed" these ten improvements proposed by the consistory.

For this reason, he added that "the municipal soccer field will not have a new shade area, and the accessibility of the municipal Cemetery, the Plaza de Mala or the sports court of Máguez will not be improved, nor will the painting of the facade and carpentry of the municipal mortuary, or the improvement of the socio-cultural centers La Tegala, La Garita and El Marinero, in Punta Mujeres."

"We are not only talking about repair and improvement works, but about playing with the safety of the residents of Haría and the tourists who visit the municipality," said the candidate for mayor by the PMH.

For his part, the president of the Platform of the Municipality of Haría and first deputy mayor, José Torres Stinga, has pointed out that "the citizens of Haría do not deserve a political class that is not up to the task," and that "instead of working for the municipality, they dedicate themselves to putting obstacles."

"They do not understand that above their interests are those of the residents of Haría," and therefore, from "the PMH we will continue working hard and carrying out all possible actions to end the deficiencies that exist in the municipality, with the sole objective of improving the quality of life of all the residents of Haría."
