The rapid action of the Arrecife Local Police prevented, on the night of last Friday, February 7, the occupation of a house in the center of Arrecife. The neighbors of the area alerted the police force, which immediately deployed up to three units to Coronel Bens Street, where four people were trying to occupy a house, forcing their way in.
The Local Police were able to verify that this occupation, in the area near the Agustín Espinosa Institute, was intended by a group of four people, born outside of Spain, who during that same Friday were evicted from another property located on La Inés Street, and where the neighbors had warned of it becoming a source of unsanitary conditions and insecurity. The property had requested the mediation of the agents to achieve this eviction, and proceed to the cleaning and sealing of the property, which allows the neighbors to regain tranquility and security.
The Local Police has activated several evictions
The Arrecife Local Police has been characterized in recent months by mediating in the eviction of several homes and buildings, in the downtown area, La Destila, La Vega, and Argana Alta, which were sources of permanent nuisance for the neighbors as these properties were occupied by aggressive and violent people. The Local Police, accepting the request for mediation from their owners, proceeded, as on the night of last Friday, to the eviction.

The mayor of Arrecife, Yonathan de León, as directly responsible for the Local Police, has reported these devices of the Local Police through the networks. And he has also remarked that "the Local Police works to make Arrecife a safe capital, and where squatters do not "rely" on the permissive laws of the Central Government to invade private property, generating with their occupation a climate of 'insecurity and violence' to the neighbors of the adjoining houses".
