The island of Lanzarote will have a headquarters of the Las Palmas Food Bank, which will be located at Calle Honduras number 42, in the Arrecife neighborhood of Altavista. This premises has been ceded by the Department of Social Welfare of the Government of the Canary Islands and the function of this headquarters will be to cover with greater guarantee the demands of charities and NGOs that operate on the island of Lanzarote.

Next September 10, a meeting will be convened with these non-profit associations at 12:00 noon at Cáritas Parroquial de Arrecife. At the meeting, an account will be given of the mechanics of action that is going to be carried out and the strategy will be established to collaborate with the distribution of food to people in need on the island.

That same day, the Las Palmas Food Bank will deliver 1,500 kilos of food to the entity "Calor y Café", which is run by Sister Ana. In addition, thanks to this new headquarters in Lanzarote, this Food Bank will be able to expand its horizons and establish a work infrastructure on the island, which will allow a better distribution of this food.

The annex in Lanzarote should be dedicated to logistics, which includes the collection of food, quality control of the food, storage and distribution. This work will be supervised by the headquarters of the Food Bank in Las Palmas and will be complemented by the tasks of its administrative and support areas.
