The first three of the six buses acquired by the Tourist Centers to renew the fleet for transporting visitors on the Volcano Route have already arrived in Lanzarote, the Tourist Centers report. "This is the first effective step to activate the change in mobility in the Mountains of Fire and the Timanfaya environment," announce from the Centers of Art, Culture and Tourism (CACT).

"These six vehicles will replace those currently on the Volcano Route, which have been in operation for an average of 15 years," they say. In addition, "the financing of these new buses is at the expense of the FDCAN," they make clear.

The entity trusts that "the remaining three buses will arrive over the next few weeks," they confirm. "It will be time to launch the system that will put an end to the queues that form at the entrance to the Mountains of Fire," they reveal.

"The six new buses that the Tourist Centers will allocate to the Mountains of Fire have hybrid engines and Mercedes bodywork," they add. "Two of them are adapted to the needs of people with reduced mobility, which will allow the entity to offer a more modern, safe and sustainable service," they comment.

As already reported, the Tourist Centers awarded the company EvoBus Ibérica the contract to supply six hybrid technology buses for passenger transport on the Volcano Route through a procedure that had a maximum budget of 1,800,000 euros from the FDCAN items, they conclude.
