The Tenique Cultural Association has organized a dialogue table for the Hermes Congress, which is being held in the municipality of Tías. This table will feature four professionals from the world of communication on the islands, who will address topics related to the world of communication and the gender perspective in the Canary Islands.
The meeting will be on Saturday, April 9 at 12:15 p.m. at the El Fondeadero Civic Center, in Puerto del Carmen. Free tickets can be reserved through the Congress website.
The speakers at the round table are professionals who work in different fields of communication. The news director of Radio Televisión Canaria, Malole Aguilar, will be one of the speakers, and the director of the podcast 'La Chica del Ascensor', Lula González, will also be present, as well as the head of the Society and Culture section of the newspaper La Provincia Nora Navarro, and the director of this media outlet, La Voz de Lanzarote, Isabel Lusarreta.
"The purpose of the meeting is to talk with them and understand firsthand what peculiarities a ultraperipheral context like the Canary Islands has and what the situation of women within the sector is. Topics such as their first steps in the field of communication, what it means to work in communication from the Canary Islands, the gender perspective in the sector, the digital transformation of the media or what relationships exist between power and the media", explain the organizers.
Likewise, the attending public will be able to better understand what connections there are between the media that we consult daily on our screens and what role technologies, networks, the proliferation of channels and formats, the pressure of external forces or disinformation campaigns play in communication.
The table will be moderated by Mari Fe Sánchez Ros, head of communication of the Tenique Cultural Association that organizes this round table within the framework of the II International Hermes Congress of Communication, Audiovisual Media and Analysis in Spain and Latin America.
