The government team of the Tías City Council, formed by PSOE, Lanzarote Avanza (LAVA) and Lanzarote en Pie-Sí Podemos, accuses the opposition parties of being “irresponsible” in the face of the “stampede” staged this Tuesday by abandoning the most important ordinary plenary session of the year, as it included in its number 6 the debate and approval of the 2022 budgets.
According to them, "the opposition parties did not present any amendment or contribution to the general budgets of the Tías City Council for this year, the most relevant document of the corporation to be able to carry out the projects that improve the quality of life of the municipality's residents."
The government group criticizes that "the councilors in the opposition abandoned the plenary session, did not participate in the plenary debate and did not contribute to the democratic system with any amendment, as it corresponds to them by responsibility and political legitimacy with the citizens." "This exceptional act reflects a thoughtless and foolish behavior and brings to light the absence of proposals, that is, the non-existence of the work done," they add.
The government group considers "absurd and crazy the excuse offered to abandon the plenary session alleging that it was held electronically, when it is well known that the security measures in force at the time of the call allowed this type of plenary celebration."
