The Lanzarote Security and Emergency Consortium has delivered to the Teguise City Council a new external semi-automatic defibrillator to improve the response to a cardiac emergency. "The device will cover one of the most popular events of tourist interest in Lanzarote, the Teguise Villa market, where thousands of people converge every Sunday," they point out.
With this new action, the Consortium affirms that it continues with the policy of expanding the "cardioprotected" areas of Lanzarote, especially the locations and events with the highest influx of people, which recommends the presence of defibrillators to attend to any cardiac emergency that may occur.
At the handover ceremony, the Security Councilor, Marcos Bergaz, announced that “they will continue this line of collaboration with the municipalities, acquiring more devices that respond to the needs transferred by the city councils, such as the placement of new defibrillators in La Graciosa”.
“Turning the market into a ‘cardioprotected’ area has always been an objective of the municipality, now it is achieved thanks to the collaboration between the Consortium and the City Council, which will allow us to be more prepared for a cardiac emergency that may occur in this crowded Teguise event”, says the Security Councilor of the City Council, Eugenio Robayna.
