The Electoral Board has dismissed a complaint filed by CC against Unidos Por Yaiza for the "alleged electoral use" of social networks.

The spokesman for UPY,  Daniel Medina, states that “he does not understand Coalición Canaria's fixation with a humble and small party like UPY, given the monitoring they do of us"; so much so that "they have denounced the electoralist and partisan use of the information that is posted on the social networks of the Yaiza town hall”, comments the spokesman.

“This battle, the first one" according to Medina, "we won it", since the Electoral Board "has dismissed the complaint of CC against UPY", and la law "has positioned itself on the side of the first majority party of Yaiza", he comments.

In addition, he adds that "it is not understood that some powerful acronyms, with a great influence in the media, and with an economic power that allows them to disseminate their electoral program on a large scale, should pay attention to the municipal news of Yaiza”.

Medina makes it clear that "they must consider us the small Gaul of Lanzarote, a town full of barbarians, as the Romans said in reference to the inhabitants of the same, who inhabit an island almost totally conquered by the great national parties, and only our municipality seems to offer resistance."

The spokesman insists on “the importance of elections, in the exercise of democracy, in the right to vote and in respect for all ideologies, but above all to the citizen, who should not be confused with ephemeral campaigns, siren songs and complaints about anything". "The truth always prevails and the facts are more important than words", he acknowledges.

"A party that governs with the people and for the people”

UPY has shown that it is "a serious party, consolidated in the municipality and that brings the experience and capacity of its leader to aspire to preside over the Cabildo, without adapting to the cumbersome forms of the great", includes Medina. "A party that governs with the people and for the people”, he adds.
