The Education public examinations finally arrive in Lanzarote

The demand is not new. The Union of Interim and Substitute Workers of the Canary Islands (INSUCAN) had been requesting it from the administration for four years. The measure implies, according to the general coordinator of Insucan, José Ángel Amador, "a recognition of our geographical reality". In addition, he adds that with this measure, "they begin to decentralize the services that citizens need, avoiding the transfer of opponents to the capital islands to take the exam".

On the other hand, Amador considers that this measure "will stabilize the teachers of each island, avoiding the instability of the teaching staff that exists at this moment".

For the moment, only the specialties of primary, infant and physical education will have the possibility of taking the exams in Lanzarote. The rest of the specialties such as English or French, among others, have not achieved this possibility since during the negotiation process with the unions, the administration set as a requirement that "at least 50 opponents from each specialty were interested in taking the exam in the non-capital islands". Something that has left out the other specialties.
