The draw to find out who has been "awarded" in the middle of summer to be at one of the polling stations that will help to vote on July 23 will be held from June 24 to 28, and more than half a million people, including principals and alternates, will be winners.
The electoral advance that coincides with the summer vacation period has caused some fear among citizens in case they are called to the polling station when they are no longer in their locality, but enjoying a trip anywhere in Spain or the world.
Of all of them, about 180,000 will be "number ones", and there will be around 360,000 "alternates". Something that increases the tension by not knowing if you will finally be called to be at the polling station. In fact, two alternates are designated for each person who is a member of the polling station (which are three). Two for each member (which are two) and another two alternates for the president of the polling station. In total, about 60,500 polling stations are set up.
Only those who are under 70 years old and can read and write enter the raffle. Also, from the age of 65 they can express their resignation within seven days. In addition, those who reach the age of majority within the period between the formation of the electoral lists and the vote are excluded. On the other hand, training counts...and the president must have a Bachelor's degree, a second-degree professional training degree or a School Graduate degree or equivalent.
"Prison sentence of three months to one year or a fine of six to twenty-four months for not attending"
One of the most anticipated moments will be the time of the count, from 8:00 p.m., after having opened the polling station at 8:00 a.m. It could be experienced only once in a lifetime...or not. But, be careful, the punishment for not attending or abandoning the Table without legitimate or justified cause may incur a prison sentence of three months to one year or a fine of six to twenty-four months.
