The Contentious-Administrative Court number 5 of Las Palmas has rejected the request for clarification made by the Haría City Council regarding the order that rejected the northern Consistory's claim to annul the agreement of the Cueva de los Verdes and its addendum, as reported by the president of the Cabildo. “The Cabildo of Lanzarote now has someone to defend its rights in the face of litigation generated by interests that have little or nothing to do with those of the residents of the municipality of Haría,” said María Dolores Corujo.
Following the aforementioned judicial resolution dated April 27, the City Council requested a clarification that, "in reality, sought to show disagreement with the reasoning of the order issued, according to the magistrate who, in addition, recalled that the incident raised is not intended for this type of use," they say from the Cabildo. “It is regrettable and shameful that a court has to remind a public institution of the use that must be made of incidents,” Corujo pointed out in the face of the "veiled reproach" that the latest order implies.
“The current officials of the Consistory will have to clearly explain to the residents the reasons for their rejection of a document that significantly improves the extrajudicial agreement of 2016 by contemplating compensation with a payment plan calculated in accordance with the judgment; an Investment Plan that doubles the amount of the fixed one and a sanctioning clause in case of non-payment, among others. I believed, naively, that the time when La Cueva became a weapon in the battle that Pedro San Ginés and José Torres fought to take control of the Canarian Coalition had ended,” he indicated.

However, María Dolores Corujo reiterates her “offer of dialogue to the mayoress of Haría and her government group”, and trusts “that this latest order will make them reflect and put the interest of their residents above internal battles that have done, and are doing, so much damage to the island.”
