The Arrecife City Council, within the campaign to clean the bottom of El Charco de San Ginés, has removed a small boat that was sunk and abandoned in this space of the capital. The City Council, through the Department of Cleaning managed by Roberto Herbón, has taken advantage of the Pino tides to facilitate the tasks, which were carried out during the hours of great low tide.
A truck crane from the Public Works area was used in the operation, thus responding to the request made by the fishermen's association of El Charco de San Ginés.
From the City Council they point out that the removal of this boat is part of the campaign initiated last August, when about 150 tires, 10 pots and other waste were removed from the seabed, where even a pot of urban furniture that had been thrown into the water was found.
That initiative was promoted by the Apedechar Association, with the support of the Marlines Canoeing Club, the House of Fear, Gorec Emergencias, restaurants in the area, owners of barges and falúas and the collaboration of the Arrecife City Council, through the Departments of Cleaning and Environment.
