The mayor of Tías, José Juan Cruz, and part of his government team held this month a coordination meeting with members of the Chamber of Commerce of Lanzarote and La Graciosa, chaired by José Valle, to inform them of the most relevant projects to be executed soon in the municipality.

The representatives highlighted both the progress made in the 'General Planning Plan' and the 45 public and private actions planned in the 'III Plan for Modernization, Improvement and Increase of Competitiveness' of Puerto del Carmen, whose document is in its final phase of processing pending the single report of the Government of the Canary Islands.

José Juan Cruz stressed that the City Council of Tías is also working on "plans of great depth" in terms of integral tourism sustainability in cooperation with other administrations, such as 'The energy of the earth', 'Canary green and Lanzarote', the accessible island.

In turn, the local administration has the municipal 2030 Agenda, the 'Climate Action Plan' and 'Sustainable Energy', the environmental awareness program 'ZEConsciente', the project 'World Kilometer 0 of the Black Coral Forests' and the cleaning awareness campaign '¡Tías TAKE CARE OF ME! Love me a lot, love me well'.

These projects are joined by the 'Sustainable Urban Mobility Plan' and the energy efficiency improvement projects in about forty streets of Puerto del Carmen. Other proposals were discussed, such as the network of webcams planned in the tourist area or the future 'Accessibility Plan' included as an Intelligent Tourist Destination (DTI) of the Secretary of State for Tourism.
