The Centers for Art, Culture and Tourism will launch "self-protection mechanisms" to avoid "inappropriate behaviors and attitudes" such as those experienced in the Jameos del Agua in recent years. There are several videos that have gone viral in which some visitors decide in the waters of this space, where bathing is prohibited.
To tackle these problems, the Art Centers have announced the incorporation of "informants in the center to transmit to visitors the values and richness of a work of art of incalculable value," explained the Entity's counselor, Ángel Vázquez.
In addition, this has not been the only measure announced by the management of the Centers. "Also, we are going to put security personnel in the pool area with the mission of reminding visitors that they are in an artistic creation and not in a public bathing area."
In this sense, Ángel Vázquez has warned that the Tourist Centers are "a set of interventions in nature that must be respected and admired. It is about preserving them in the present to be able to enjoy them in the future."
The counselor has finally advanced that "we are working to implement measures of this type in the rest of the Centers and be prepared against those who do not know how to behave in public spaces or respect a heritage asset that belongs to everyone."
