The Centers for Art, Culture and Tourism have just published the rules for contracting timple musical performances for Noches de Jameos and Volcán Grill. They can be consulted in the link that have Jameos del Agua and Montañas del Fuego as their setting, respectively.
The Tourist Centers reinforce their links with traditional rhythms and sounds, giving special prominence to what is, without a doubt, the musical instrument of the archipelago par excellence. “We are working to ensure that visitors take away an unforgettable memory of César Manrique's integral intervention in the Tourist Centers, but also of the flavor of the dishes of our traditional recipes and of everything that culture represents in the construction of Lanzarote's identity,” said the Entity's advisor, Ángel Vázquez, who encourages local musical creators to support this initiative “to add their talent, knowledge and experience to Noches de Jameos and Volcán Grill.”
Musical proposals may be submitted in duo or trio format, always with the timple as the main instrument, accompanied, as the case may be, by voice, string, percussion or wind. The process contemplates the selection of a minimum of three (3) and a maximum of ten (10) projects.
The contracts will have a duration of one year, with the possibility of extending the contract for a maximum of three years.
Interested parties may submit their proposals before 2:00 p.m. on June 30. The selection phase will end on July 15 and the results will be published before July 21.
