The Cabildo of Lanzarote will execute the works of rehabilitation and adaptation of the northern road that connects the towns of Guatiza with Los Valles to incorporate it into the network 'Vía Ciclista Insular', a project financed by the Secretary of State for Tourism through a subsidy granted by the Ministry of Tourism, Industry and Commerce for an amount of 900,000 euros.

This work has just been put out to public tender in two different sections, the first of them, from Guatiza to El Mojón for an amount of 463,617.77 euros, and the second from El Mojón to Los Valles for an amount of 447,446.7 euros, taxes included in both.

The Councilor for Public Works, Planning and Project Coordination, Jacobo Medina, points out that "the main need of these works is the adaptation of this road for the preferential use of cyclists, achieving a safer and more comfortable circulation, since the protection systems against unevenness will be improved and both the horizontal and vertical signage will be renewed, incorporating preferential signs for the cycle path".

"On the road from Guatiza to El Mojón, along Avenida Alfonso Tolosa, there is a need for regularization due to the wear and tear of the materials that support the road. In addition, the signage shows significant deficiencies," they point out from the Cabildo. With respect to the El Mojón - Los Valles road, in the Quesera section, they point out that "there is a need to improve the pavement and improve the protection systems against unevenness".

The execution period of these works is estimated at two months and the companies interested in these bidding procedures can access all the documentation through the State Contracting Platform.
