The Cabildo of Lanzarote, through the Department of Social Welfare, has put out to tender the management of the San Roque socio-health residence and day center, in the municipality of Tinajo. "San Roque is a fundamental public service for the care of our elders in Tinajo and with this new tender we give it continuity over time and guarantee the management that best meets the requirements of quality and qualification required," said the president, María Dolores Corujo.
This public contract has an estimated total budget of 7.52 million euros and a duration of five years. The company that is selected must assume the complete management of the services provided by the senior center and have the qualified personnel necessary to care for the 28 seniors who reside permanently in San Roque and the 15 users of day places; in addition to taking care of the maintenance of the building.
The area councilor, Isabel Martín, stresses that "the well-being of our elders is one of the priorities of social care of the Cabildo" and assures that "the older residents have in Tinajo a center where they are cared for with all the guarantees and has the assessment of the users".
Until the final award, the residence will continue to be managed by Clece, the operator that won the previous Cabildo tender. In case of change of manager, the new manager must subrogate the current staff, recognizing their seniority rights and category.
