The Cabildo presents the human team and vehicle fleet of the Road Conservation Service

Following its recent award, this service will have 21 people to maintain the different roads of Lanzarote in good condition

The Cabildo of Lanzarote presented, on Wednesday, the recently awarded Road Maintenance Service as well as the human team and the vehicle fleet with which they maintain the care of the island roads. 

In the presentation was present the president of the Cabildo of Lanzarote, Oswaldo Betancort; and the counselor of Public Works, Jacobo Medina, who gave the details of the company that will provide the service until the year 2028

Betancort assured that this service is "fundamental for the maintenance of the roads of Lanzarote". "Not only do we improve the infrastructures, but we have to maintain the existing ones, and through the more than five million euros of investment from our own funds, we will make it possible for 21 people to be at full capacity with the conservation of our roads," asserted the president. 

The Minister of Public Works, Jacobo Medina, pointed out for his part that this service "is one of the fundamental ones for the area". "Road safety is one of the premises of this Corporation, we continue to bet on it and throughout the day, as we also have **a 24-hour standby available** for any emergency on the island roads".

In addition to the more than twenty Service workers, the presentation also served to present the new material endowment available, which includes a SUV-type vehicle for inspection and coordination tasks, a PICK-UP type vehicle equipped with a signaling cart for rapid interventions, and a van equipped with a variable message panel, essential for informing drivers in real-time about any road event. 

Furthermore, the presented vehicle fleet is completed with two highly versatile mixed-use vehicles, thus allowing for the simultaneous coverage of a wide spectrum of technical needs at different points on the island's geographyWith this reinforcement of the Conservation Service, the Cabildo de Lanzarote continues to fulfill its roadmap for infrastructure modernization. The combination of state-of-the-art vehicles with a reinforced human team guarantees constant surveillance and an operational intervention capacity 24 hours a day, consolidating a safer, better-signposted road network prepared for the mobility challenges facing the island
