The president of the Cabildo, Pedro San Ginés, and the mayor of Arrecife, Eva de Anta, inaugurated this Thursday night Espacio 48, the new Open Innovation Center of the Cabildo of Lanzarote, which is located on Triana street in the capital

"The Centers have transformed an old building into a modern, open and functional space, which has become the setting for the concentration and exchange of knowledge and experiences between professionals from different fields around the tourism industry," they reported from the first institution. 

San Ginés, who was accompanied by the councilor of the Centers, Echedey Eugenio, highlighted the benefits of a space "that prepares and enables us to face the leap that humanity is taking towards a place that we are not able to imagine." "Espacio 48 is much more than a work office. It is a pioneering center that facilitates the exchange of knowledge and stimulates the desire to improve from creativity and innovation, keys to overcoming the challenges of the digital age. It is a resounding commitment to the future," he added. 

The president of the Cabildo also extended his hand to the Mayor of Arrecife, Eva de Anta, present at the event, "to carry out the projects that interest the population of the island". "With Espacio 48, we create the ideal place to boost those projects that interest citizens and that are fundamental for the transformation of this island. Projects such as FERMINA, in which we have been working for months to make the recovery of this emblematic space of the Arrecife marina a reality for the enjoyment of the inhabitants of Lanzarote," he said. 

For her part, the mayor of Arrecife, showed her "solid commitment to FERMINA", a project of which several infographics could be consulted this Thursday and that Eva de Anta considers "a revulsive for the city of Arrecife". De Anta also highlighted the "modernizing vocation" of Espacio 48, "an investment in intelligence that shows that advancing in innovation is necessary and, in addition, possible".

For his part, the councilor of the CACT, Echedey Eugenio, highlighted "the content and the continent of Espacio 48, a wide space, with light and clarity, that will allow us to improve and be more competitive in the business of the sensations of our visitors, who will be able to benefit from the possibilities offered by technologies in their tourist experience in Lanzarote".

 

The event


The inauguration of Espacio 48 began at 6:15 p.m. with the presentation of the results of the CACT Cognitive Challenge Challenges organized by the Centers. Representatives of the companies OcioLanzarote, Simplemente online, D4T and Geolanza explained the work they developed around the application of the CACT and served to prevail in these challenges, "a good example of the synergies that are wanted to be achieved with Espacio 482.

Later, at 7 p.m., Javier Sirvent, "one of the most privileged brains in the world of technology in Spain, a visionary who unites things between the world of science and technology", offered a "very interesting" presentation on how digital transformation is changing the life of the human being and how it will alter it, even more, in the following years. 

Javier Sirvent is a professor at the EOI, INESDI, Instituto de Empresa, CH.Garrigues, ICADE, ESIC, ICEMD, The Valley Digital School, FOM Industria4.0, Schools of Excellence of Telefónica and in different educational programs of business and people, on Digital Transformation, Disruptive Innovation or Exponential Technologies and, for him,  "nothing will be as before, technology will change everything". 

In this sense, Sirvent spoke of the disappearance of jobs and the transformation of businesses from a positive point of view, and showed examples of the opportunities in the new economy in tourism, which will increase the efficiency of businesses. In addition, he broke down the path for the transformation of companies, for which "the passion of professionals" is fundamental: "Creativity will become a key tool for humans," he said.

"Espacio 48 is an open, diaphanous space, in which the color white abounds, on which the opal green stands out in the spaces destined for work meetings and holding meetings. In addition, it has an area for training and teaching. Elegantly and soberly decorated, it has services adapted to people with reduced mobility", highlight from the CACT. 

This new Innovation office of the Centers, as has been detailed from them, occupies a useful surface of 391.77 square meters.
