The Papagayo campsite, an area managed by the Cabildo of Lanzarote and La Graciosa within the protected environment of the Los Ajaches Natural Monument, registers a notable influx and occupancy, standing out as the preferred option for residents and visitors to enjoy the coast sustainably and respecting the environment.
The president of the Cabildo of Lanzarote, Oswaldo Betancort, points out the excellent public response and highlights the success of "having modern, comfortable, and environmentally friendly infrastructure in an enclave of high landscape value like Los Ajaches."
For his part, the counselor for the Campsite Area, Samuel Martín, emphasizes that "the digital management of reservations is working with complete fluidity, offering each camper a space equipped with the best services and amenities." He also invites people who wish to enjoy camping to continue submitting their requests through the official website, where they can see real-time availability.
Camping Services
The Papagayo campsite has about 260 plots organized for different types of accommodation: caravans, large tents, and small tents. The grounds include accessible plots located near services for people with reduced mobility, designated areas for pets, long-stay areas for reservations of 5 days or more, and short-stay areas of up to 4 days, with a minimum of 2 days' reservation.
The facility has complete bathroom modules adapted for people with reduced mobility, indoor and outdoor showers, sinks, drinking water supply points for filling tanks, individual drainage hook-ups for grey water at each plot, and an external black water tank.
Likewise, it has communal night lighting, electrical hook-ups available on the plots from 10:00 AM to 11:00 PM, 24-hour surveillance, a wheelchair-accessible ramp to the beach, and designated barbecue areas.
From the Papagayo Campsite, they recommend always consulting the updated information on the official website before making a reservation.
The campsite will remain operational throughout the summer until October 4. Pets are only allowed in authorized plots, provided they are leashed, and their access to the beach is prohibited.
