The Cabildo of Lanzarote has created a negotiating commission to carry out the II Equality Plan of the island institution. With this, the island entity will seek to promote the development of equality policies and respond to the new responsibilities that all companies and public entities have in this matter.
In this way, for the creation of this plan that contemplates the regulation of the period 2023-2025, the representatives of the Cabildo and the Union of Public Employees of the Canary Islands (Sepca), UGT, CCOO and Intersindical Canarias, will meet to propose the measures and actions to be followed to carry out the project.
María Dolores Corujo, president of the Cabildo, highlighted the importance of having a new Equality Plan "that adjusts to current needs and remedies any attack of inequality that may exist in the internal functioning of the Island Institution".
The president also pointed out that they would meet with the union representatives to "work together on this document and ensure that all parties agree with their future conditions".
Isabel Martín, Minister of Human Resources of the Cabildo, explained that the Commission will be in charge of negotiating and elaborating all the measures for the diagnosis and the measures that will integrate the plan, which will be: to elaborate a report of the results of the diagnosis, to identify the priority measures, to promote the implementation of the document, to send it to the competent labor authority for its approval, and, finally, to promote the first actions of information and awareness of the staff.
