The Cabildo of Lanzarote began a conference on entrepreneurship, environmental sustainability and digital economy framed within the initiative 'Crea Lanzarote- Green and Digital Entrepreneurship'. Through it, the Cabildo has been advising and training entrepreneurial ideas on the island for months.

The Minister of Employment of the Cabildo, Jorge Peñas, inaugurated the conference this Thursday at the Islote de Fermina. “The threat of climate change demands a new relationship with the territory, between people, and forces us to question the current model of consumption and tourism. However, it also represents an opportunity to create new niches and jobs, under the perspective of the new paradigm represented by the Sustainable Development Objectives and Goals,” said Peñas.

He also pointed out that “the exponential growth of information technologies cannot be ignored”, which “are here to stay”, highlighting the importance of the business fabric and public administrations moving towards digital transformation.

“The Cabildo does not stand idly by in the face of these challenges demanded by the current situation and for this reason these conferences have been organized, whose objective is to transmit the benefits of the digital and green transformation of the economy, as well as to inform about the new opportunities offered by the market,” explained the counselor.
