The Cabildo of Lanzarote, in the plenary session held during the morning of this Tuesday, finally agreed to allocate 42,000 euros in subsidies for the taxi sector of the island.

According to the Island Corporation, this public aid will serve so that the holders of the 432 licenses that currently provide services in Lanzarote modernize and improve the equipment of their vehicles. Specifically, the economic resources granted to them by the Institution "must be used for the purchase of taximeters, and the printers required by the regulations."

The first vice president and councilor of Mobility and Transportation, José Juan Cruz, stressed that from the Cabildo of Lanzarote "will continue to bet on public transport implementing measures that contribute to the improvement of the provision".

"In this case, we contribute to the island's taxis adapting to current regulations by renewing the taximeters and installing the printers required by law," explained the councilor.
