The Local Police of Arrecife have found a rental vehicle, a Citroën C4, which was reported in police databases for misappropriation. The discovery, with the collaboration of the company that owns the vehicle, took place on the night of September 5th in a public street, in a street in the La Vega neighborhood.
The officers verified that this vehicle was reported as stolen and the owner company, dedicated to vehicle rental, was informed of the steps to follow to take charge of this automobile, with no apparent signs of damage.
The Local Police, together with the manager of the vehicle rental company, appeared at the National Police facilities for the transfer of these actions to the corresponding court, as there was a warrant regarding the aforementioned automobile and its license plate.
In this case of the found vehicle, the sticker or identifying badge of the rental company had even been removed. The Local Police reminds that as soon as "they are reported, they go from a breach of contract to a crime classified in the penal code".
The officers of the Local Police of Arrecife have recovered several cars this summer, mainly rentals, as it was found that they were not returned and the owner companies filed misappropriation reports.
