The Housing Councilor of the Cabildo of Lanzarote, Miguel Ángel Jiménez, has responded to the recent "erroneous and misleading information provided by the spokesperson for the socialist group" in the opposition of the first island institution, clarifying and reaffirming the "firm commitment of the new Government group with the residents of Valterra's houses, refuting accusations of abandonment and ensuring that the process of formalizing property titles is underway".

“The Housing Area has the necessary documentation to advance in this process, dismissing the need for an additional item”, says Jiménez in response to the motion presented by the socialist group to demand the allocation of funds for professional fees that "do not correspond with reality."

In this sense, Jiménez explains that “once the consultation was made to those affected, they confirmed that they have no pending payments related to the documentation presented, lacking invoices or provision of expenses”. “Therefore, we correct the false statements about the transfer of homes to the Cabildo, indicating that the processing is oriented towards registration in favor of the legitimate residents, whether the person assigned to the home or their heirs”, adds the councilor.

“This government guarantees the continuous commitment of the Cabildo with the residents of Valterra and its willingness to reach a fair and adequate solution in this process that, unfortunately, was not attended to by the PSOE during a painful and empty term of management, in which absolutely nothing was done to address that payment demand that they now claim knowing that there was neither a contract nor a need for that expense”, concludes the councilor, asking the political parties of the Cabildo to "exercise constructive opposition."
