The Governing Group of the Arrecife City Council, composed of the Partido Popular and Coalición Canaria, has decided to suspend the plenary session scheduled for Monday morning. According to sources from the council, the suspension occurs this August 31st, following a request from the PSOE due to the absence of several opposition councilors.
In the order sent on August 28th to the council, the PSOE requests that the plenary session be rescheduled in a single extraordinary session starting from the first Monday of September. It was noted that according to the regulations of the Arrecife City Council published in the Official Gazette of Las Palmas, August is a non-working month at the council if agreed upon in this manner by the Spokespersons' Board.
Among the items to be discussed on the agenda of the Arrecife City Council plenary session were three credit modification files, as well as the extrajudicial recognition of several invoices, four sanctioning files, and the approval of the cyclist mobility ordinance and the municipality's public bicycle system.
Meanwhile, two motions from the PSOE on the illegal transport of passengers and intrusion in the taxi sector and on the urgent intervention of Arrecife's sanitation network were also to be debated; as well as a motion from the Mixed Group on the creation of a playground in La Vega.
This plenary session also includes the control, oversight, and accountability of the agreement reached in the Arrecife Local Government Board for collaboration between the Cabildo of Lanzarote and the Arrecife City Council in the organization of the San Ginés festivities, as well as the decrees signed by the City Council between July 28th and August 23rd.
