The Arrecife City Council now has a new nationally qualified auditor, after a long period in which the Consistory has had problems filling this position. Francisco Javier Escalona took office on April 23, as he explained himself when presenting himself at the Plenary Session held this Tuesday in the capital.

"The work I have accumulated now is enormous and my time is very limited, but I am at your disposal," he said, addressing the councilors represented in the Consistory. "My office will be open for any questions, which I suppose will be many, even though there is little time left in the term," added the official.

In his first Plenary Session, Escalona explained that he is nationally qualified and pointed out that he has filled this position "with great enthusiasm", although aware of the work involved after the period experienced in the City Council.

Since the departure of Carlos Sáenz from the Consistory, who is currently in prison serving a sentence for embezzlement crimes, the problems in the Intervention area have been accumulating, among other things due to the difficulty in filling that position again in a stable manner and with an official qualified for that position.
