The president of the Cabildo of Lanzarote, María Dolores Corujo, has announced the public tender for the conditioning of the right margin of the LZ-30 road 'Travesía de Uga'. The works have a base bidding budget of 72,055.67 euros, co-financed by the Canary Islands Development Fund (80%) and by the Island Council (20%).
The project, drafted by the technical services of the first Island Corporation, details that, at present, the Uga Picnic Area, located on Agachadilla Street, borders the LZ-30 road to the east along 100 meters in length and there is an "important" unevenness, because the elevation of the picnic area esplanade is below the elevation of the road in this section.
In addition, the area does not have a shoulder, "with the consequent risk for vehicles, which have to circulate a few centimeters from the edge of the road, there being no containment system to stop the exit of a vehicle and the risk of falling into the park", as explained by the Minister of Public Works, Planning and Project Coordination, Jacobo Medina.
“In this way, and with the aim of avoiding these risks, the works will consist of the construction of a vertical concrete wall lined with volcanic stone 85 meters long and 2.40 meters average height”, Medina points out. In addition, the road will be provided along this section with a new 2.20 meter wide rolling layer, which will become the shoulder, and subsequently, the existing beacons will be replaced and the horizontal signage will be repainted.
Companies interested in this tender can submit their applications through the Cabildo de Lanzarote bidding portal until July 31.
