The Cabildo of Lanzarote, through the Department of Public Works, informs of the temporary closure to traffic of the LZ-2 road between the Maciot and Playa Blanca roundabouts.
This closure is necessary due to the road surface rehabilitation works that the Cabildo is carrying out on said road, located in the municipality of Yaiza. The closure will take place from Tuesday, April 22, from 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., and will continue for the duration of the improvement works.
"From the Cabildo of Lanzarote we are aware of the inconvenience that this temporary closure may cause to road users, but these rehabilitation works are essential to improve the safety and condition of the road. We ask for everyone's understanding and we are working to ensure that the inconvenience is minimal and the works are carried out as quickly as possible," said the councilor, Jacobo Medina.
The Cabildo of Lanzarote appreciates citizen collaboration and asks drivers to plan their journeys in advance and, if possible, use alternative routes during the closure period.
The paving works have a budget of 1,067,490 euros, co-financed with the Cabildo's own funds and by the Canary Islands Development Fund (FDCAN), which is managed in the First Corporation by the Planning and Project Coordination area headed by Vice President María Jesús Tovar.
Jacobo Medina also thanked the Yaiza City Council, especially its mayor Óscar Noda and the Councilor for Works, Ángel Lago, "for their collaboration and cooperation in order to carry out this project, drafted by the southern Consistory."
